De Groot appointed us to refurbish a 1,000 sq. ft. office in Farringdon, with a £35,000 budget. The brief was to refresh the existing space through a series of targeted improvements, creating a more appealing and functional workspace without the cost of a full fit-out.
Rather than starting from scratch, we focused on making the most of the existing space, combining practical upgrades with considered design details to improve the look, feel and usability of the office.
The works included a light refurbishment of the terrace to create a more usable outdoor space, alongside a full redecoration throughout. In the meeting room, Crittall-style banding was introduced to add character and definition while maintaining a bright, open feel. New acoustic panels were installed to improve sound quality and reduce noise, while the tea point was refreshed with a new splashback. Electrical improvements and infrastructure updates were also carried out to better support the day-to-day use of the space.
Delivered within a £35,000 budget, the result is a refreshed, characterful office that makes better use of the existing space. The project demonstrates how a targeted refurbishment can deliver a meaningful improvement in quality and functionality without the expense of a complete fit-out.
