One of the things we missed most about going to the office during the pandemic is undoubtedly the chance to catch up with colleagues over a post-work pint.
To help you make up for lost time, we’ve rounded up the best pubs and bars east London has to offer so you’ll never be short on ideas for where to go for your after work beers.
Where to go for after work drinks in Shoreditch
The Crown and Shuttle is a great choice if you’re based anywhere near the Rivington St office and coworking space and looking for somewhere to drop in for casual post work drinks. This award-winning watering hole offers an extensive range of draught lagers, IPAs and pale ales, just as you’d expect from one of Shoreditch’s best-known hipster hangouts. It is also home to the ludicrously named Filthy Fanny’s; a 90s-themed private space for hire with room for up to 50 people and an option to choose your own epic soundtrack for the night.
A sophisticated post work tipple in Spitalfields
For a more intimate post work drinking experience, give Milroys of Spitalfields a try. The whisky tastings are perfect for a corporate event while you’re sure to find something to tickle your taste buds in their subterranean cocktail bar The Proofing Room. A great spot for anyone working at Fora’s stunning Spitalfields location on Folgate Street.
Great after work drinks in Dalston
Hacha is undoubtedly the place to go for one of the best Margarita’s in London. In fact, their ‘Mirror Margarita’ was voted the 7th best cocktail in the world by Time Out Global. Sip on these while chowing down on authentic Mexican dishes in this star of the Dalston bar scene.
The best pub for after work beers in Stoke Newington
If you’re of the opinion that Guinness really is good for you, the pints on offer at The Auld Shillelagh are some of the best you’ll find outside of the Emerald Isle. We recommend popping in for a post work swifty but staying all night for the live music and even livelier atmosphere.
After work drinks with a view in Canary Wharf
While you won’t find many classic pubs in Canary Wharf, this business district still has its fair share of cool after work drinking spots for the suited and booted. Top of our list to try is the swanky bar and restaurant in the sky, Bōkan. Head to its spectacular bar and roof terrace after a hard day’s work in one of Landmark’s stunning flexible offices for breathtaking views of the river and London’s skyline.
Where to go for a post work pint in Hackney Wick One of the best spots for an after work beer in this edgy, East London enclave is the Old Street Brewery & Taproom. This VERY hip joint serves up its own local brews including the Belgian-style Hacknery Wit and its Comic Beer, which comes in at a whopping 9% abv.
So, there you have our round-up of some of the best after work drinks venues in East London, with a few of our favourite London office spaces thrown in for good measure.
